Goodwill Mountain Farm lies on the slope of the Kleinriviersberg just outside the heritage village of Stanford. Cradled by the mountains and caressed by the wind rustling in the pine trees, this working permaculture farm is a place of silence, vast spaces and communion with nature.
Accommodation will be in a resplendent house overlooking a dam with heart-stirring views of the mountains. The twitter of birds will gently wake you to the dawning day and a chorus of frogs will serenade you to sleep. The spacious and bright rooms can accommodate one to two people.
Start your day with an invigorating swim in the dam. You will then be spoilt with choice; yoga, meditation, mountain walks, trail running and full body workouts await you.
Plentiful Vegetarian fare will delight your senses and fill your tummy and titbits of cultured and fermented foods will entice you for the upcoming workshops.
Wild Fermentation - The environment on the farm is teeming with wild yeasts and beneficial bacteria which are ideal for wild fermentation. Learn how to make milk kefir, water kefir, buchu flavoured jun and ginger beer. Honey ferments, fermented veggies, kefir cheese and sourdough bread.
A box full of cultures and comprehensive notes on fermentation and gut health will be going home with you.
Yoga - Our yoga practice will be a blend of Hatha and Ashtanga, focusing on flowing with the breath and relaxing into awareness. During our time together you will experience the fundamental principles of Yoga so you may take these with you in your daily life. The sessions are tailored to all levels of experience.
Meditation - Our meditation will focus on breath awareness. Using the breath as an anchor, we deepen our ability to stay present. In this way we make space for the ever-expanding peace, wisdom and love that you are.
Workouts and Trail Running – Functional strength training targeting your entire body no matter what your fitness level will set you up for a productive day. Traverse the mountain paths at a comfortable pace while you take in the nature around you.
End your day under a plethora of stars with the subtle bouquet of fynbos and the quietude of Goodwill Mountain Farm!

Rishi – Neo-hippie with a passion for permaculture and the well-being of my fellow beings. Originating from Denmark and having travelled most of the world, I have now landed firmly in South Africa and have co-founded Goodwill Mountain Farm with the mission to live responsibly in all aspects of life – from growing my own food to ceasing fear and judgements.

Accommodation: Rooms are given on a first come, first serve basis. One bedroom is ensuite while the others have adjacent shared bathrooms.
